Emerald Acres Campground

Only about 10 miles out of town, Emerald Acres is great for a quick weekend getaway or a longer vacation with the family. This campground is open to both RVs and tents. They also have weekly, monthly, and seasonal rates for those who want to spend more time out in nature. There are community events scheduled for every month, from May through October. Enjoy fishing tournaments, costume contests, community bonfires, and so much more with fellow campers.

Blue Mounds State Park

If you don’t mind a longer drive, Blue Mounds State Park in Wisconsin offers beautiful views and plenty of amenities. They have both drive-in and hike-in campsites, as well as a cabin that is available for people with disabilities. There is a pool and splash pad for the kids and miles of biking and hiking trails. There are plenty of hunting opportunities nearby as well. This campground is open year-round, with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding in the winter.

Seward Bluffs Forest Preserve

A little closer to home is Seward Bluffs, a campground in the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County. This campground does allow tents, but it’s ideal for RVers. They offer both 50-amp and 30-amp sites, which you can reserve online. There is plenty to do in the preserves, with a little bit of something for everyone. In addition to hiking, biking, and fishing, there are 3 golf courses nearby, as well as horseback riding and an area for sports dog training.

Lena KOA

For those with a larger RV, Lena KOA is ideal. They have pull thru sites for trailers up to 75 feet. They also have cabins and teepees for rent and tent spots. Some amenities that set this campground apart include a heated swimming pool with a slide, gem mining for the kids, and sand volleyball. They also have a large outdoor kitchen and Wi-Fi throughout the park.
