3 Family Restaurants Worth the Drive Near Freeport, IL
1. Logan’s
Enjoy big, juicy burgers and apps here at Logan’s. Start off with one of the nearly 25 appetizer choices, such as a basket of nacho chips, portabello mushroom bites, or garlic Parmesan nuggets for the table. Then try the bacon mac, the South of the border, or the cowboy burger. They even offer a vegan burger that has an all-plant-based patty. Or you can choose from an entrée like the sirloin, rib eye, cod, or the grilled shrimp dinner.
The kids will get their fill with one of the following: two-piece chicken tenders, diced gold potatoes, grilled ham and cheese, mac and cheese, nacho chips, vegetables, or cod, to name a few. Logan’s is open every day except for Tuesday and is located at 1805 S. West Ave.
2. Cannova’s
This restaurant dates back to 1964 and serves delicious pizzas, steaks, seafood, chicken, veal, and pasta. We recommend starting off with the bruschetta or garlic cheese bread to whet the appetite before enjoying a mouth-watering steak or a cheesy, gooey pizza, like the Sicilian or margherita pie. We also like the Sicilian filet house special served with salad and bread. The little ones can appreciate the spaghetti with meatballs or the cheese ravioli.
Visit Cannova’s on Friday or Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and enjoy the live pianist. They are located at 1101 W. Empire St. and are open every day except Sunday and Monday.
3. Munchies Cereal and Shake Bar Restaurant
The kids especially will love this place with their awesome wings, sandwiches, and most importantly, ice cream. But start with the loaded fries for everyone while the kids order the chicken and waffles, the strip basket, or the loaded cheese fry. The adults will enjoy the Munchies fried chicken, a chicken ranch wrap, or a taco salad. For dessert, you have a choice from a single, double, or triple scoop of ice cream, or enjoy a famous milkshake.
Munchies is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10:45 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday from 10:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find them at 116 W. Douglas St.
